American Hosts
CETAC is currently seeking companies for our 2012 trainee program. CETAC works for bringing american high-tech companies and CETAC’s highly motivated master student members together, resulting in trainee positions lasting for 8 weeks up to 12 months.
All members of CETAC are students at Chalmers University of Technology in Gothenburg, Sweden, and have completed at least three years of the coursework towards a MSc in either:
- Electrical Engineering
- Engineering Physics
- Engineering Mathematics
- Software Engineering
- Computer Science & Engineering.
All practical arrangements, such as the J-1 visa and insurances, are made by CETAC. ASF, the American-Scandinavian Foundation, will provide visa sponsorship to CETAC members through its U.S. Government-designated Exchange Visitor (J-1 visa) Program. The ASF Exchange Visitor Program meet its operating expenses through a program fee of $100 per month (on top of the student’s income, not deducted from it); the minimum fee is $400 for programs of up to four months.
This year, CETAC has members with extraordinary skills in several computer science, computer engineering, information engineering, engineering physics and electrical engineering related areas, such as: data communication, web programming, software engineering, microelectronics, mathematics, electronic design and industrial engineering and management. The members’ preferred time of visit varies from 10 weeks up to 12 months.
One goal of CETAC’s trainee program is to bring the participating companies technically skilled and highly motivated employees, capable of making solid contributions to their work. CETAC also intends to provide broadening experiences, professionally as well as culturally, through the students’ new perspectives, fresh ideas and skills in cutting edge technology.
