New Startup Screen Templates
Every application in Office 2013 now supports color-coded startup screen – green for Excel, blue for Word, green for Publisher, and orange for PowerPoint. Just access the SkyDrive folder and browse for other documents.
Touch Screen Capabilities

The Read Mode option in Microsoft Word, for example, allows the users to open the document in reading view. Users can now swipe the screen side-to-side just like turning pages in a book.
As for the touchscreen PC and laptop monitors, you can now use this features and navigate through the document easily. You can access this feature by clicking the Touch Mode button on the Quick Access Toolbar. The ribbon’s tabs and menus will automatically spread apart so that the finger can easily operate it.
The Backstage View of Office 2013 apps now includes an Account tab. This is where you can access your SkyDrive account. You may also switch accounts here if you are using several ones. There is also an option where you can see the connected services such as Skype, Twitter, and Facebook. There is also an Office Updates area where you can check if there are available updates in the application.
